Glenna Ratcliffe joined the Economic Development Department in August 2007 as an Administrative Assistant, bringing with her over 25 years experience in public service.
In this position, she supports a five-member progressive and professional development team, certified as an Accredited Economic Development Organization in the Commonwealth. Glenna is responsible for departmental budget management and financial oversight, special event planning and coordination, and overall office management. She also serves as Secretary to the Roanoke County Economic Development Authority.
In her previous capacity, she served as Executive Secretary to the Department of Economic Development for the City of Roanoke, as well as staff to the Agency Funding Advisory Committee for the Roanoke Arts Commission, Assistant Secretary to the Hotel Roanoke Conference Center Commission and the City of Roanoke Economic Development Authority. She also served other committees including the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Council, the Human Services Advisory Board, Curfew Task Force, Teen Pregnancy Task Force, Homeless Committee, and Human Services Funding Committee.
The mother of two daughters and grandmother of five, Glenna resides in North Roanoke County.
